April Sustainability Policy Briefing

April Sustainability Policy Briefing

Tuesday, April 23, 2024 (9:00 AM - 10:00 AM) (PDT)

Description

This hub is for deep-dive discussions on pressing sustainability and efficiency issues impacting your building.   Some topics that will be focused on throughout the year include rebate opportunities as you go green, building out your internal ESG team, green leasing, and BOMA International’s Carbon Reduction Initiative.

The Sustainability Committee briefing this month includes:

A presentation on "Net Zero for Existing Buildings." Join Verdical Group, a nationally-leading sustainability consultant, for an overview of how the LEED Certification system provides a framework for existing buildings to achieve net zero. Attendees will leave with an understanding of what net zero means for existing buildings and the process to achieve it, including specific strategies to measure and improve building performance. The presentation will begin with an overview of the net zero movement, then address LEED O+M certification, which is a required prerequisite for existing buildings to achieve LEED Zero certification. Verdical Group will then discuss the process for achieving LEED Zero Energy and/or LEED Zero Carbon, explaining the requirements for each pathway and sharing case studies their team has worked on.
