Hollywood Power Hour: Rising Homelessness in Hollywood: What Should We Do?

Hollywood Power Hour: Rising Homelessness in Hollywood: What Should We Do?

Wednesday, November 18, 2020 (8:00 AM - 9:00 AM) (PST)

Description

Description:

The challenges Hollywood building owners and operators face as a result of Los Angeles’s homelessness crisis have only gotten worse since the COVID-19 emergency began.

Homeless encampments have spread even more across Greater Hollywood (and frankly, across all LA commercial areas). This obstructs more sidewalks and poses greater security, sanitation, and trespassing challenges to BOMA/GLA members than just a few short months ago.

BOMA/GLA is excited to host a representative from the Hollywood Entertainment District Business Improvement District to provide a state of affairs of the homelessness crisis in Hollywood, and inform members of how they can constructively address these challenges.

At this Power Hour Valley members will have the following takeaways:

  • How the homelessness crisis has evolved in Hollywood since the COVID-19 emergency began, and why it has become more protracted and challenging.
  • Best practices for building owners, managers, and security staff can address the security, trespassing sanitation challenges that come from more local encampments and less law enforcement.
  • How to best work with local security resources such as the BID and LAPD.

Speaker(s):

Kris Larson – CEO, Hollywood Entertainment District
